Groundbreaking for the Betty Barclay Group Logistics Center
On November 4, 2024, the symbolic groundbreaking marked the start of construction of the new Betty Barclay Group Logistics Center, or LCBBG for short.
The owner of the Betty Barclay Group, Jürgen H. Winter, presented the project together with the managing directors Robert Küper (CEO) and Manfred Plaar (CFO).
The LCBBG will be equipped with modern racking and automation technology for flat goods and will enable the complete consolidation of flat goods handling at a central location. The construction and installation of the warehouse technology is expected to be completed by mid-2026. The first deliveries are planned for the third quarter of 2026. In the future, around 10 million flat goods items will be processed and shipped worldwide each year from a usable area of over 15,000 square meters. Once operational, the LCBBG is expected to employ around 150 people.
CFO Manfred Plaar emphasized: “The investment in the LCBBG is a significant milestone for the future of our Betty Barclay Group. We are firmly convinced that this step will enable us to noticeably optimize processes, performance, and thus the entire service for our customers.”
