Work.Life.Power
A roadmap for stressful times
Stressful periods are almost impossible to avoid at work and in everyday life, which makes it all the more important to manage them consciously. This is precisely where our hybrid workshop series ‘Work.Life.Power’ comes in; so far, over 125 staff members have taken part, both at our headquarters in Nußloch and online.
Consciously assessing stress
The focus is on how to recognise personal stress early on and manage it effectively. Rather than theoretical models, participants are given practical, everyday approaches that can be put into practice straight away. A first step in this process is the so-called ‘360° stress check’ – a conscious assessment of one’s current situation, both at work and in private life.
Building on this, the aim is to develop individual ‘minimum routines’. Small, reliable habits can provide stability in challenging times, whether through getting enough sleep, short bursts of exercise or simple, regular meals.
Everyone reacts differently to stress
Another focus is on recognising personal stress patterns. Whilst some tend to jump from one task to another and lose track of things, others maintain a consistently high level of performance whilst ignoring their body’s warning signs. Still others take on too much, rarely say ‘no’ and bear their stress in silence. The key insight is that stress manifests itself differently in each individual, and solutions must be just as individualised.
Supporting the body during stressful periods
Strategies include, amongst other things, setting clear priorities, taking deliberate breaks, being mindful of one’s own limits, and following a supportive diet. Diet, in particular, can play a significant role. By maintaining stable blood sugar levels, reducing caffeine intake and opting for foods that are generally less stimulating, you can ease the strain on your body.
Even small, conscious changes can make a noticeable difference and help you stay balanced, even during intense periods. And this is precisely where we aim to provide our staff with ongoing support.
