OUR ENVIRONMENTAL
The Betty Barclay Group upholds its environmental responsibilities. Our goal is to reduce emissions and use materials consciously. We have been investing in modern technologies to increase energy efficiency for years. These include a pellet-based bioenergy plant, energy-optimised ventilation and cooling systems, and the full use of LED lighting in our stores. At our headquarters, we generate our own electricity with a photovoltaic system and actively reduce CO₂ emissions. In addition, we consistently obtain our electricity contracts from renewable energy sources. We also think about transport in a sustainable way: our CO₂-based car policy promotes electric vehicles and provides charging points. Our bike-leasing program also offers climate-friendly alternatives for commuting to work. In logistics, we avoid air transport to further reduce emissions. Tracking our transport methods’ carbon emissions – especially in maritime transport – allows us to identify specific areas with potential for reduction. We have begun analysing our carbon footprint and are laying the foundations for measurable climate targets.

Our ‘We Respect’ label identifies more sustainable collection pieces for conscious consumer decisions.
Circular economy
Our packaging consists of >50% recycled material, and 70% flat packs reduce the carbon footprint. Clothes hangers containing meadow grass reduce the use of fossil resources.
Product
With our own quality assurance, sample sewing, and pattern development in Germany, as well as own material component purchasing for top-of-the-range products, we pursue high quality standards and value retention.
