The Betty Barclay Group is proud of its electric vehicle fleet, the 10,000-square-meter solar array on the roof of the headquarters, and the fact that 70% of its freight is transported by sea.
OUR INFRASTRUCTURE
We have been investing in modern technologies to increase energy efficiency for years. These include a pellet-based bioenergy plant, energy-optimised ventilation and cooling systems, and the full use of LED lighting in our stores. We generate our own electricity at our headquarters using a photovoltaic system, thereby achieving a caculted reduction of 236 metric tons of CO₂ emission per year (as of 2025). In addition, we consistently obtain our electricity contracts from certified renewable energy sources. We also take a targeted approach to mobility: an emissions-focused car policy promotes electric vehicles and provides charging points. In addition, our company bike scheme offers an alternative for commuting to work. In logistics, we rely primarily on sea and land transport. We keep air transport to a minimum.

Circular economy
More than 50% of our packaging is made from recycled material and 70% of our packaging is flat-pack. According to an analysis by the IfaS Institute, the meadow grass and sunflower hangers* used at our own points of sale result in a calculated 64% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to conventional hangers.
*Biocompound: 30% grass fibres & 70% recycled polypropylene, or 30% fibres from sunflower seed husks & 70% recycled polypropylene
Product
Our own quality assurance, sample sewing and pattern development departments in Germany, as well as in-house procurement of material components for premium products, help us maintain high quality standards across our range.
